The Manhattan Project

The rabbit years provided a lot of rich material for making narrative sculpture. While my oldest was in his last few years of high school, The Military became a fascination for him…my father had been a surgeon in the Viet Nam war, we were not excited about him going into this line of work.

My thinking was that we had raised our children to be thoughtful caretakers of nature and animals… not people who were in the Marines…

This work explored the dichotomy that I felt as parents of an 18 year old who could make his own choices.
