Lift up your Hearts. That is the translation to this Latin phrase…It was the motto of my daughter’s high school. When she was a senior I started building this piece… It took more than nine months to complete, much like a pregnancy…I was ruminating on the journey ahead for both of us.
Being in a relationship with your child is a wonderful thing… so intimate, yes chalenging and lots of work, but amazing.
I was feeling my way through the future of her not being in my house every morning when I woke up… anticipating that loss but also looking forward and upward to her future.
The ladder has been a symbol I’ve come back to time and time again.
