In 2020, we faced the most intense global pandemic of my lifetime. The Covid 19 pandemic swept the country and the globe. Lockdowns were widespread, fear, illness and uncertainty marked each day. Thousands of people died and many more were affected by the loss of loved ones.
Since I have a studio that is spacious and private, I was able to continue to work. The world felt closed down and frightening. This piece came out of those very dark days when we discovered that we could no longer gather safely. Our homes became barracks of sorts, our lives got very small in comparison to what we were previously used to.
