Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

We bought a house that was in the city of Cleveland proper when my kids were little, 2 1/2 and newborn at the time. We didn’t extrapolate out that the kids would need to go to public schools that were really failing after aroung 6th grade… We loved our house but it created a lot of issues for educational options later on in high school and this piece is about that journey.

I loved carving this ladder… the process was delicious and so physical… I spent much of my summer outside in a makeshift studio on the driveway and in the garage so that I could enjoy the weather and also be home to watch my “Nest”…
